An Evening With Horse Communicator Holly Davis

On April 12th, by kind permission of the owner, the refurbished Old Mendip Inn (before the official opening), opened its doors and provided refreshments for The Mendip Bridleways and Byways Association’s meeting.

MBBA welcomed Holly Davis an animal communicator and Therapist, who travelled from Pembrokeshire especially to talk to the 40 members and friends.
Members had been invited to bring a photo of their horse and Holly would ask it, through telepathy, any burning questions to which owners had wanted answers.

The equine photos ranged from small hairy ponies to smart thoroughbreds. As each owner was identified Holly asked for the name of the horse, age , sex and whether still living. Questions ranged from “Is my horse happy”?, Why is she so lazy, why is he difficult to catch, does he mind not eventing any more and content to be just a happy hacker?

The answers that Holly received from the horses caused laughter and tears. A mare wanted to mother a foal, not necessarily hers. One horse complained that he did all that was asked of him but he was never allowed to do what he wanted to do. A pony told his young rider that she was a lovely rider and the pair of them could go far, providing she maintained her innocence and continued to understand him. A young horse who was at the time being professionally broken asked to go home to his owner as he was sure they would get on very well together without outside interference. Holly explained to one owner that her horse was reluctant to go one rein because of a blockage in some neurological pathways, she proceeded to give her some specific exercises which she was sure would help. Each time Holly picked up a new photo silence fell on the room as we watched her concentrating on the communication. . Several times as there were some derogatory remarks about owners / riders Holly checked with them that they were happy to hear her out. One horse asked his owner to look into his eyes and she would know how he was feeling.

Holly is researching Equine neurological system and is working with American Universities she has had some experience working with autistic horses, with excellent results.
She has offered to hold a clinic in the Mendip area for one or two days, already 15 people have signed up. Venue and dates are yet to be arranged. Holly can be contacted on Tel 01994 241255 or website www.centaur-therapies.co.uk Understanding the psyche of the horse has certainly made great strides since Anna Sewell’s Black Beauty

The next MBBA meeting is May 10th at Kingfisher Equestrian BA7 7PS 7.30 p.m.
