A plea from the Events Secretary!

MBBA runs twelve events/rides/talks/visits or lectures each year. This is quite an organisational challenge as you might imagine and can only take place with the help of generous members, their partners and friends who give up a morning or a couple of hours to voluntarily help out. Now, it’s always the same good folk who step forward and I am hoping that I can encourage some other members to take a turn, just once a year and lend a hand at one of our meetings. This could be anything from; directing traffic at a ride venue –bit frantic but much scope to be bossy!- , sitting in your car noting riders numbers and times, helping in the secretary’s van, to collecting entrance fees at one of our outdoor events or pouring wine!. There is endless opportunity for getting involved and really helping MBBA to achieve its aims. You don’t have to be a rider, just have a good sense of humour and be happy to muck in. This is also a great opportunity if you are new to the area or have just joined MBBA as you will have a chance to get to know some of our 400 members and play a valuable part in fundraising activities. I would like to start a list of names that I can contact when I need help, so please email or phone me, your contact would really be appreciated.

My second plea is for ideas for future events. Up to now members have been really good at asking for certain talks, events or lectures, so please continue with the good ideas and email or phone me gjones@mbba.org.uk or 01749 831276 with any thoughts you might have, your contributions are valued and we will do our very best to use each suggestion. MBBA is your association and the committee is keen to give members what they want.

Kind regards,

Ginnie Jones,
Events Secretary
