Access Week 2012

BHS National Access Week 2012 is 18-27 May 2012

Don't forget to let us know of any events you are planning so we can help you promote them.

You can also get nomination criteria for the 2012 Riders' Charter Awards by emailing access@bhs.org.uk with the subject heading 'Riders' Charter Awards'. 


 

 

 

BHS National Access Symposia

The BHS Access Department will be holding two training symposia in summer and winter 2012. The focus will be on commons and DMMO applications. Dates are yet to be confirmed, but if you'd like to register your interest, please email access@bhs.org.uk

A11 fears eased after key meeting

Fears over diversions and key access routes were eased after a meeting of the major players in the A11 dualling project.

Stakeholders, including the Highways Agency, county councillors, Elveden Estates, Matthew Hancock, MP for West Suffolk, and The British Horse Society met at Suffolk County Council’s offices in Ipswich for a meeting chaired by Guy McGregor, portfolio holder for roads, transport and planning.

BHS National Spring Training Convention
Monday 12 March 2012. 9.30am to 4.30pm,
Bury Farm Equestrian Centre

This year's convention, organised by the BHS Training team, will focus on course building and course walking, led by international course designer Steve Williams and BS accredited coach and Junior and Young Riders Chef d’Equipe Corinne Bracken.

Tickets are £39 for BHS registered instructors and £43 for all others.  Discounts are available for groups.

Access Volunteer vacancies

We are currently aware of the following BHS access and right of way volunteer vacancies

North East Yorkshire
We are seeking a volunteer to help with wind farm applications in North East Yorkshire. Since most of the applications are very similar, the work does not require any complex training. Please do your bit for the riding and driving public and help the BHS in this area.
